Happy New year and No Resolutions

Happy 2014 !!! everybody. I hope all of you had a great time, rewinding the year 2013, the good and the bad.
I am sure good things, just don't have the impact and longevity of the memories of the unwanted episodes. So here's are a few pointers that may ease out , aspects for you, that are hard to forget or be absolved of, so that you may start your year with positiveness for yourself.

What to let go

  1. Letting your happiness depend on people.
  2. Expecting happiness in succession to sadness.
  3. Expecting others to help you out of your problems.
  4. The need to be right.
  5. The temptation to cry and let it out.
  6. The wanting to make all things right.
  7. Trying to keep everybody satisfied.
  8. Wanting to be accepted.
  9. Beating about oneself, over something that's lost.
  10. Cursing others for your situation.
What to inculcate
  1. Being independent, is always the foremost that you need to try hard and learn to imbibe in life, coz the more you are dependent, the more you dig your way into helplessness.
  2. We always take happiness for granted, until we start losing the small things, way too longer, to realize a change that can ,make it all come back.Well! don't worry, sometimes, the little things in life, can give you enlightenment, that you have long forgotten from your childhood, seek it , enjoy it.
  3. Many days, we tell things to friends ,or family expecting empathy and help, but behold, don't get sucked in too deep, with the comfort zones, nobody is interested to help you,all time with favors, when the world is filled with injustice. Try solving 90% of your problems yourself, leave 5% to GOD and rest to friends and family for discussion and help, this way you would feel , that you, YOU are in control of your (heart & brain).
  4. Never try to supersede an argument to be right, sometimes SILENCE is the act of Wise. Doesn't seem right to scream out to bring out your point, coz if it's right, it so shall be,despite being rubbished.
  5. Give yourself the pampering, just relax, it's never in your hands to make everyday perfect, even the most perfect days , seem unsatisfactory, when you are accruing your task sheet, trying to be Perfect.
  6. This is so important- Let go off the temptation to make everybody happy. It's next to impossible, just like the fingers of our hand, people vary in mindset, lifestyle, actions etc etc, trying to please/fulfill everybody's will, will just Burn you out, with a feeling of emptiness. You were not born to keep all happy.Be happy within your cocoon, definitely,it will radiate and everybody naturally will appreciate, even when you can't be there 100%.People who understand, will definitely stick by you, while those who disagree, will eventually say they were unhappy even with ur 100%(get it?...good)
  7. Forgetting a painful past can be a painful redemption that we seek, but quite often it depends on our nonexistence and time to relieve it. SO,limit the time rethinking the regrets, nothings gonna change, even if you cry your eyes out or plead guilty,by tearing your soul apart, rest the pain and get going to WORK......yes..Housework,workout,office-work,pets...etc anything. Just move on
I hope my tidbits in small doses help you in some way to be a better "you"

Resolutions

I stopped making any resolution sometime around 2003, when I kept failing miserably at achieveing anything at all, well to be frank,none..Zilch,Nada.....what woks for me, is the ability to plan a day and work towards smaller goals and cover a mountain, than to carry a mountain a few inches forward.

Do you make resolutions? Do they work for you? If so , share them, would love to hear them !

Now over to my pics..........

Until Next time....Love and warm regards

Anarkali for dress - Reinventing ethnics

Been a very busy week for me, had loads of work for my little son's school, I never knew of crafting, creating and creating so much for school during my childhood, but nowadays...Damn!!! It's like a never ending crafting work for parents, rather than the kids. Though it's fun,and i love crafting, sometimes, the things they ask for gets you worried for the availability of it......
For example:-there is still one undone project- "Taking care of a newborn/sibling"
Now pray tell me, how do people with a single kid/having friends who don't have babies,or any neighbour with infants manage to click pictures of their kids taking care. I kinda feel frustrated and question the very topics, which have been imbibed for studies( Atleast an alternative would have sufficed...PHEW!!! )

Well , now back to my stuff, as for my workouts, it's been pretty steady except for my dwindling weight. BLAME it .... BLAME ITTTT on the Festival .... yup...how can one still diet during festive occasions, even eating in potions seem to put pounds...for my body...so that means....I gotta workout harder. So past 2 weeks around Diwali,has been a big bummer for me...regards to my weight loss journey. But I still manage to keep the range in and around 2 pounds.While my hubby gleefully gobbled a couple of sweets and stuff...and he managed to reduce ( waaah!!!!) and my son...hardly ever puts on weight.These two guys have a high MBR.....Do I even have one..i wonder...coz I am always cold to touch... {grimace}

There goes my ranting on workouts, but summarizing it all, I am just doing fine, and as the wise beings say....I never wanna give up, and I just keep pushing,just keep pushing {Finding NEMO - Dori Style ;-P}

For the outfit I used my Floor length tri colour Anarkali. Floor length ones have an added advantage of being worn as a Maxi Dress. And here I tried just the same. I used the string that's to be tied at the back of the neck, as a knot towards the front of my neck. How cool is that !!!! No accessories required for the neck.
I have done this in college days ...and I might upload it..as i find it.. And added 2 belts to give it a dress look just beneath the bust,a bracelet,an anklet and just a pink/purple toned lipstick and kajal...VOILA....it's simple yet , elegant.

White Anarkali for Onam

It's been a week since Onam, and for the international readers who wonder what "Onam" is...it's a festival celebrated by God's Own Country- "Kerala"...rather it's a state in southern India. When many festivals are celebrated by either one or two of the zones of India, this is one festival solely celebrated by kerala, through whole of India. I am not getting into the significance of the festival , but for those who would like to know, check http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Onam

I wore a beautiful white Anarkali suit for the day. I always have a passion for Anarkalis..especialy when I was pregnant, nothing seemed to flatter my bump...like the Anarkalis. So I have a collection of them, till date. And this time I accumulated as many as I could on my visit back home. And best of all were the trinkets that you could get for a steal, and India being the colourful land of blings, you sure could lay your hands on many awesome pieces. This post i bring you my Outfit for the festival.

I just applied a light make with heavy khol eyes and purplish pink undertones to lips

Anarkali - Pothys

Studded bangles - chennai , Pondy Bazaar
Lightweight jhumka - kerala

Have a nice week end !!!
